Launch Online decision aid “retention of fertility in endometriosis” on National Endometriosis Day 2017!

On this annual day of the Endometriosis Foundation Dr. V. Mijatovic the on-line decision aid during his lecture in the plenary room of Corpus in Oestgeest. The link to the online decision aid will soon be available on the website of the Endometriosis Foundation.

This online decision aid has been developed in collaboration with the Endometriosis Foundation and is intended to support endometriosis patients who have questions about preserving fertility in the conversation with their treating physician.

OvCaRe in Vancouver (Canada)

Wetenschappelijke samenwerking gestart met British Columbia Multidisciplinary Ovarian Cancer Research team (OvCaRe) in Vancouver (Canada)
Dit heeft betrekking op onderzoek naar risicofactoren voor ovariumcarcinoom bij endometriose en vindt plaats in nauwe samenwerking met het Nederlands Kanker Instituut.

Masterclass door Dr. Peter Barton Smith

Collega Barton Smith is een ervaren robot chirurg en heeft expertise opgebouwd bij diepe endometriose en complexe hysterectomien. Hij wil deze expertise graag delen tijdens een masterclass op donderdag 30 maart as op het Endometriosecentrum van het VUmc. Participatie op uitnodiging.

Korte biografie Peter Barton Smith:

Mr Barton-Smith’s specialty is complex robotic and minimally invasive and surgery for benign gynaecological conditions mainly related to pelvic pain and subfertility related to endometriosis but also including uterine fibroids and abnormal bleeding. He completed a four-year fellowship at the MATTU, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford from 2004-2008. He was then appointed there as a Consultant in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery from 2009-2012. He moved to Singapore to be Chief of the Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Section in the O&G Dept at SGH in 2013. In 2016 he returned to the UK and is currently practising at Princess Grace Hospital in London.

Informatieavond Endometriose & Vruchtbaarheid

Op woensdagavond 22 maart 2017 organiseren de Endometriose Stichting en het Endometriose Centrum VUmc een informatieavond over endometriose & vruchtbaarheid.

Dr. V. Mijatovic, gynaecoloog en hoofd van het multidisciplinair Endometriose Centrum VUmc, zal deze avond dieper in gaan over de gevolgen van Endometriose op de vruchtbaarheid. Tevens zullen er endometriose verpleegkundigen en vrijwilligers van de Endometriose Stichting aanwezig zijn. Er is genoeg gelegenheid voor het stellen van vragen. Na afloop is er ruimte voor het uitwisselen van ervaringen met lotgenoten.

Doel van de avond: Informatie verstrekking én lotgenotencontact.

In navolging van de succesvolle EndoLounge in het VUmc van april jl. zal er op dinsdagavond 1 november in dezelfde setting een nieuwe EndoLounge worden georganiseerd.

19.15 – 20.00 uur Plenair vragen stellen
20.00 – 20.15 uur Pauze
20.15 – 21.00 uur In kleine groepjes ervaringen delen
(dr. Mijatovic, de verpleegkundigen en de vrijwilligers van de Endometriose Stichting zullen bij de groepen plaatsnemen om eventuele vragen te beantwoorden)

Wij vinden het heel belangrijk om iedereen die zich opgeeft voor deze EndoLounge een waardevolle avond te bezorgen.
Waar wil jij het over hebben, welke topics zou je het liefst willen bespreken, wat zijn jouw verwachtingen van de avond? Laat het ons weten en we proberen dit mee te nemen in de EndoLounge op 1 november. Uiteraard doen we ons best om ieders vraag te behandelen maar dit is niet altijd mogelijk.

Top Referente Functie

de Nederlandse Federatie van UMC’s (NFU) heeft het Endometriosecentrum VUmc de status van TRF (Top Referente Functie)-Expertisecentrum voor ernstige endometriosetoegekend.

Vanaf 15 september hangen er 9 nieuwe posters in verschillende VUmc-liften.
Het zijn de eerste foto’s van de tweede serie “VUmc in de lift”.
De posters met foto’s en teksten illustreren wat wij allemaal bij VUmc doen en waar wij trots op zijn.
Ook het Endometriosecentrum VUmc heeft een eigen poster gekregen.
Daar zijn wij heel trots op !
